Best New Incremental and Idle Games: September 2026
The late-August release window was unusually good, which makes September a great month to start something new. This list is all recent arrivals: games that shipped in the last few weeks, plus one that lands on September 7.
We have leaned toward the short and sharp end this month. Most of these finish in two to four hours, which is exactly what you want when you are sampling rather than committing. If you would rather sink into something long-running, the August ranking is the better starting point.

The Farmer Was Replaced
The smartest game on this list. You do not farm, you write Python-ish code to make a drone farm for you, then optimise it until the whole operation runs unattended. Progression unlocks harder problems rather than bigger numbers, and you can edit the .py files in your own editor.

My Fire Is Bigger Than Yours
Released August 30 and the most purely entertaining new thing this month. Throw everything you own into a campfire, start a cult to feed it, expand the operation to the Moon, and beat the Sun. Over 200 upgrades and physics-driven chain reactions to break.

FEED THE AI
Already the most-opened new release in our first days of September. A three-hour active incremental where you feed data to an AI that comments on its own growth, and three different alignments decide what it becomes. Uncomfortable in the way it intends to be.

Just Keep Fishing
An August 27 release that does exactly what the title says. Cast, catch, watch the fish counter lose the plot, buy the next upgrade. It is small and cheap and knows when to stop, and it runs on Windows, Mac and Linux.

The best free pick this month if you want something that outlasts the others. Stacking prestige layers, real offline progress and automation that keeps compounding well past the point most idle games run out of ideas.

Out September 7, so wishlist it now. An incremental auto battler where you recruit heroes, find a party synergy that clears rooms on its own, and let it grind millions of skeletons into loot for the skill tree and the Blacksmith.

A whole incremental built on scratch cards. Rip through stacks hunting rare symbols, reinvest into upgrades that bend the odds, then unlock the Scratch Bot and let it do the scratching. The automation turn is the moment it clicks.

Pollution cleanup as an active incremental. Blast grime off the countryside, mine what is left, refine the sludge into money, buy better tools. Relaxing in the specific way that watching a dirty thing become clean is relaxing.

Short, funny and mean. Smash piggy banks to pay down your debt, except smashing costs stamina, so every run ends when your hand gives out. Perks speed up future runs and bankruptcy pays legacy points, which is the joke and the loop at once.
