Who is responsible

The controller for this website is

When you just browse

You can use the whole directory without an account. When you do, we process the following.

• Server logs. Our host, Vercel, records each request with your IP address, browser and the page you asked for. We need this to deliver the site and keep it secure. Vercel deletes these logs after a short time.
• Analytics. We use PostHog and DataFast to count visits, see which pages people arrive on and leave from, and find broken pages. They use cookies or local storage to recognise a returning browser. We don't build a personal profile for visitors who aren't signed in. PostHog can record a session to help us fix bugs. We only switch that on for short periods, and it hides everything you type.
• Votes. When you rate a game we save a one-way hash of your IP address, never the address itself, so each visitor counts once.
• Saved games. Games you bookmark stay in your own browser's local storage. They never reach our servers.

Advertising

We show ads from Google AdSense. We also show our own promotion cards for games listed here, and those use no third-party cookies.

• Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this website or other websites.
• Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visits to this site and/or other sites on the internet.
• You can turn off personalised ads in Google Ads Settings. You can turn off personalised ads from other vendors at aboutads.info.
• If you visit from the EEA, the UK or Switzerland, a consent banner asks you first. Google only shows personalised ads if you agree. You can change your choice at any time through the privacy link the banner leaves on the page.

When you create an account

You need an account to submit a game, claim a listing as its developer, or buy a developer plan. Clerk runs sign-in and stores your email address and name. Paid plans go through Clerk Billing and Stripe. We never see or store your card number. When you submit a game we keep what you sent, and Resend delivers our emails about it. Every email has an unsubscribe link.

Why we are allowed to do this

We process data to run the site and the account you asked for (contract), to keep the site secure and learn how it is used (our legitimate interest), and to show personalised ads (your consent, where the law requires it).

Some of these companies store data in the USA. Where they do, the transfer relies on the EU-US and Swiss-US Data Privacy Framework or on standard contractual clauses.

How long we keep it

We keep account and submission data while your account exists and delete it when you ask us to. Hashed votes stay as long as the game is listed. We keep analytics data for up to two years. We keep payment records as long as Swiss accounting law requires, which is ten years.

What we don't do

• We don't sell your personal data.
• We don't record what you type into forms.
• We don't ask for more than a listing or an account needs.

Your rights

Under the Swiss Federal Act on Data Protection (FADP) and, if you live in the EU, the GDPR, you can ask to see the data we hold about you. You can also ask us to correct it, delete it, or send you a copy, and you can object to how we use it. Email team@dibe.agency and we will answer within 30 days. You can also complain to the Swiss Federal Data Protection and Information Commissioner (FDPIC) or to the data protection authority where you live.

You can clear cookies and local storage in your browser at any time, or block analytics with a content blocker. The site still works if you do.

Changes

When this policy changes, the date at the top of the page changes too.
