Write Python-ish code to automate a drone farm, then optimise it until the whole thing runs itself.

You do not farm in The Farmer Was Replaced — you program a drone to do it for you. Using a simple Python-like language, you automate planting, harvesting and resource gathering, then spend what you earn unlocking technology that opens up harder problems. There are no discrete levels. Progression is continuous, and the opening hours introduce programming concepts one at a time before handing you genuinely tricky optimisation puzzles. It teaches everything you need but will not solve the tasks for you, which makes it a real challenge for newcomers and a comfortable sandbox for experienced programmers who blow through the early game. Code lives in actual .py files, so you can edit it in VS Code with IntelliSense and the game picks up changes automatically. Equal parts automation incremental and programming toy — and one of the few games where refactoring is the reward.
